will an a.i. shaman heal the planet? and if so, what medium will be used? this live audiovisual performance explores the connection between spirituality and technology, and humanity’s impact on the earth in the age of the anthropocene. both park and bol deal with a world disturbed by climate change, with the violent reality of melting and distorted icebergs. using various electronic devices and live processes, bol’s sound will morph into park’s visual world. bol’s music assimilates unintended and often overlooked sounds and structures. the hum of a fridge, or the sound of a record just before it starts. performing with body and mind, he manipulates these sounds using light sensors, touch, gesture or brainwaves. in doing so, this re-imagining of park’s work transfigures the whole into a new physical reality.
