In our showcase: Erwin Thomasse with ‘Turn Panic into Magic’. A light work that slowly fades at the pace of your breath. For this, he used the tempo of the breathing method employed to prevent panic attacks. In doing so, he asks us how we transform a difficult emotion into something beautiful through physical action.

The work ‘Turn Panic into Magic’ by Erwin Thomasse was developed in 2021/22 in collaboration with the Van Abbemuseum. Since then, the sentence has stood life-size on the museum’s roof. The five smaller light boxes that form part of the work are on display at various locations in Amsterdam, including Bradwolff Projects, as part of the festival The Bluest Monday 2023!
