The starting point for Renate Jacobs’ exhibition THE WAY is the artwork ‘Moon Face’ by Raoul Dohmen [1944-2005]. It is a hard stone boulder in which a striking head has been carved. It was created in Ireland in 1975 and serves as a source of inspiration for Renate Jacobs for her solo exhibition at BRADWOLFF PROJECTS in Amsterdam.
Renate Jacobs’ [1947, Amsterdam] remarkable practice is inextricably linked to the stories of her life and the objects and artworks she encountered through friendship and travel. The questioning and philosophical character of the exhibition THE WAY can give us insight into who we are, how we relate to others, and where life takes us. The exhibition offers us an overview of her works in which we are taken along into her thought patterns to look through her eyes, through her reality. In her quest, she tries to find the ideal way to connect life and art.
BRADWOLFF PROJECTS selected this project due to the artist’s investigative approach, an inspiring journey in which life and art converge and lead both Jacobs and the platform to new insights and exchange.
