this storm will pass

11 september 2020 - 26 september 2020

This storm will pass is first and foremost a festival spanning three weeks in September at Bradwolff Projects. In light of the coronavirus crisis, the festival’s content adapts to the shape of our changing reality. This storm will pass is a relay of performances, literary interventions, and musical contributions centered around an interactive exhibition. Secondly, This storm will pass is an occasion for all of us to reflect anew
on the world around us. Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, the world looks different, and our thinking is taking on new forms. In times of crisis, we must ask ourselves what we can do now that previously seemed less possible. This storm will pass offers an opportunity to translate the power of reflection into art and from art back into daily life.

Every weekend in September, the festival will be accompanied by literary, musical, philosophical, and poetic contributions from various artists, writers, and thinkers. All know the ability to translate their inquisitive capacity into art, turning it into a direct reflection on reality. The painters will be the first to take up the baton. With each new work, painters open the window to our society, to issues such as climate change, inclusivity, and liberation movements.

Marc Raven, Urs Moore, Bas van den Hurk, and Jochem van Laarhoven will be the first to contribute to This storm will pass by giving form to their ideas in material. They will engage in conversation with Dominic
van den Boogerd on Sunday, September 13, during an art brunch from 2 to 5 pm. RSVP: info@burobradwolff.nl

Finally, literary and musical voices will take over the baton from the visitor and artist, translating this into texts written for the festival. In their texts, they reflect on the given, the self-evident, as opposed to the unknown and the mysterious that both art and our daily lives have to offer. They translate the new into the light of the old.

Finissage on September 26 with a performance by singers Zoe Citron and Helena Casella. The musical interlude will also be presented online.
