Beschrijving
Fahrettin Örenli’s book ‘Conspiracy Wall> ANARTIST’ [2004-2014] brings together his literary [poems] and visual [drawings and photography] work. The book contains images of maps [of oil arrow lines for example], urban landscapes, portraits, public figures and mythical creatures. The work shows a critical view of contemporary cultural and social developments and the role of the artist in society and the art world. The project deals with the different ways in which political and economic problems and actions have influenced human life throughout history, and specifically in the last decade. It observes how these problems have influenced our nature – where the being originates – and asks what this could mean for the future. With work, Örenli tries to observe and interrogate the environment of today through the feelings she evokes in us [people]. The purpose of the installation is to deal with complex individual, social and political issues of the time in which we live. The project investigates the direct relationship that exists between economics and politics on the one hand and art and education on the other. It subjects contemporary cultural and social developments and the language used in art and by artists to a critical examination.
